DigitalKwarts — Tallinn, Estonia

Software with a
sense of story.

We are an independent product studio. We create AI-powered storytelling platforms used by 600,000+ writers worldwide — a tiny, self-funded team competing with venture-backed startups.

What we do

One craft, practised end to end.

01

Research & discovery

Every feature starts as a conversation with the writers who will use it. We study how stories actually get made — and let evidence, not opinion, set the roadmap.

02

Disciplined development

Standardised playbooks, small releases, honest metrics. Best practice isn’t bureaucracy for us — it’s how a handful of people out-ship teams ten times their size.

03

Built to be run

We operate everything we make — onboarding, support, reliability, pricing. The unglamorous loops that turn a clever demo into a product people keep for years.

Magic Chapters is the one we talk about most. The same engine powers our other platforms — romantic fiction among them — each run under its own name.

Our story

2017 — today

DigitalKwarts began in 2017 as a software development studio. For years we designed and engineered web and mobile applications for companies across Europe — prototypes, products, and the unglamorous work of keeping them fast and reliable.

Somewhere along the way, the ideas we sketched for ourselves became more interesting than the ones we shipped for others. So we made the switch that most studios only talk about: we stopped taking clients and started building our own products.

Today we are entirely product-focused. We don’t take on client work, agency projects, or outsourcing — every hour goes into the platforms we design, build, and operate ourselves. We remain a handful of people, self-funded, measured against venture-backed teams many times our size. We like it that way.

Kwarts is quartz — the stone. Crystallised silicon, the same element every chip is cut from; put it under pressure and it gives off a spark.
We liked that as a brief for software: natural, precise, and quietly everywhere. It’s why there’s a rough-cut stone in our logo.

One honest note before you write: we don’t accept client or agency work, and we’re not looking for development partners. For anything else — questions about our products, press, or a good idea — we read everything.
